OUR STORY
After spending many years in Colorado, USA building a cabin in the woods, high in the Rocky Mountains, We are happy to be home and all settled in on our farm in West Kerry, Ireland.
Our intention is to Re Wild our farm (and every nook and cranny of Ireland that we can!) It is very wild here, from trees and plants, to deer, mink, hedgehogs and even eagle and heron sightings. Donna plants more trees every year, we keep BEES in the garden and are always growing something in there too!
Currently, 2 of our 4 children live with us on the farm (the other two have flown the coop) as well as our sweet black dog, Mossy, our three adorable donkeys, Paddy, Penny and Bramble, and our happy hens and ducks. We will continue to add animals to the farm as we grow but strive to stay in balance with nature. Wild deer and pheasants wander through the farm and the bird population is amazing. Truly a bird lovers paradise. No matter where you stand on the farm, the views are outstanding in every direction, from the Macgillycuddy Reeks above us, to the Dingle peninsula off to the east. We look forward to sharing our amazing space with you all~
THE FARM
Base Glamp at Black Dog Farm is a developing project and a long term dream coming to fruition. In September 2019, we stepped foot onto our new farm and began to make our dreams come true. From growing our own food and planting more trees, we are always busy here. We have built trail systems throughout the farm and have now have 3 off grid accommodations ready for guests to come unplug from the world and tap into the beauty and nature that abounds our farm. We have a shared kitchen and bathhouse for our Octagon, Yurt and Tale Wagon guests. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a bathroom in it. The shower room offers an additional bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and sink.
We are not your average glamping accommodations - we are WILD and very private. No cookie cutter glamping pods right next to each other here - With over 12 acres, there is plenty of space for ourselves and our guests to have privacy and space with the convenience of our town, Killorglin, just 10 minutes away and many trailheads within a few km of the farm. Life is good at Black Dog Farm and we look forward to sharing our love of wild Ireland with our guests.
"I had an amazing night at Black Dog Farm. The octagon was very spacious with a lovely comfortable queen bed. The hosts were more than lovely and they really made sure we were taken care of. Some of my favorite features, were a lovely woodland, behind the octagon, and a brilliant hammock in the octagon. A very pleasant fire pit adjacent to the octagon and the donkeys and chickens were a real novelty. I would call this a must do experience for anyone traveling in Kerry. Many thanks to Black Dog Farm" ~Brian Kelleher~
"I had the most amazing time at Black dog farm. It’s such a unique setting perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, those who want a break from busy city life or to simply relax for a few days.
It’s warm, homely and I felt so welcomed throughout my time there.
The octagon is incredible and nothing like I have ever stayed in before. I would highly recommend staying in it for a magical experience you won’t forget.
I can’t wait to book in again! 5 stars ☺️⭐️"

"Darragh and Donna are the perfect team to host the incredible Glampsite that they have created that provides never to be forgotten holiday experiences!
We stayed in the yurt and experienced glamping for the first time. I'm hooked!
Camping with a queen sized bed, carpets and couches, with access to the full modern kitchen and bathrooms.
And that's just the beginning of it all. The amount of work that they have put in to make the campsite beautiful and comfortable is incredible. No mud, beautiful art work wherever possible, natural feel of the wooden lodge for the kitchen and bathroom facilities, their beautiful garden, lovely donkeys Paddy and Penny, and of course their friendly big black dog Mossy.
They are the perfect host and hostess helping with info about the best local places to visit and useful advice. They're situated in a great place to explore the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. And Carrauntoohil is right on their doorstep!"
